Tell me your travel destination…

… to tell you what to drink

Of course, you can drink whatever you like. Yet it’s worth trying the drinks a country or another is famous for, the same way you taste the traditional food from each place. So, if you’re planning a vacation in…

mojito

1

Cuba

You must drink at least one mojito! It contains rum, lime, sugar and mint and is one of the cocktails you can drink anywhere, especially in the summertime. It has a history that dates back from the 16th century and became renowned due to Ernest Hemingway, who used to drink mojitos in Havana.

2

Puerto Rico

Here, the choice is very simple: Pina Colada, the country’s national drink since 1978! It’s a sweet and exotic cocktail with rum, coconut milk and pineapple juice. Most of the time, it’s served with ice and a slice of pineapple. In Puerto Rico even exists a national day dedicated to this drink – it is annually celebrated on July 10th.

Bellini

3

Italy

More specifically, in Venice. This is the town where you have to savor a Bellini, a drink made of prosecco and white peach puree (Succo di Pesca). And for an original experience, go right to Harry’s Bar – the place where Giuseppe Cipriani created this drink in 1948.

4

Belgium

Choose a Black Russian, a cocktail invented in Brussels in the late ’40. It was created by bartender, Gustave Tops, who worked at the Metropole Hotel. He first mixed Russian vodka with Kahlua liqueur and served this new drink to a woman – Perle Mesta, US ambassador to Luxembourg.

France

I know, every time you go to France you have a choice of the best wines. And that not to mention the champagne! But it is worth tasting a Kir Royale, this mixture of crème de cassis (a blueberry liqueur) and champagne. It’s simply delicious and it’s a perfect appetizer!
