I usually wear bright colors in summer, both for outfits and make-up. It’s a sort of a reflex I’ve developed in time: when it’s hot outside subtile colors are not my first choice. I go for bright pink, sparkling orange, coral, you name it. But this season brings a wind of change: burgundy lips, the color of wine and sour cherries. Matte is the new trend (like I’ve seen at Burberry Prorsum, Emporio Armani or Miu Miu) but a sheer-finish is not at all out of fashion either, as Givenchy shows us. Which are my favourites? Here are my top picks. Enjoy!
1
Clinique Lip Pop Lacquer
Launched in 2016, Lip Pop features a high-shine effect. Its secret? It has a built-in primer that makes it last for up to six hours. I especially love it because I can use it both alone or on top of an another lipstick.
2
La Petite Robe Noire, Guerlain
You simply can not love it! Even its case looks like a piece of jewelry. And the formula is just fa-bu-lous: three levels of intensity in one lipstick. It’s incredibly easy to use: one layer for a discrete color. Two layers for a more intense effect. Three layers for a strong, vibrating and sophisticated finish.

Pure Color Envy, Estee Lauder
Hydrating lipsticks are a blessing for those like me who always have dry lips. And one of the best I’ve tried so far is Pure Color Envy. It has a bright, fresh color and – most importantly – it has a moisturizing complex with hyaluronic acid that helps capture and seal-in hydration. Say goodbye to dry lips!
