Fall-winter’s hottest make-up trends

It may sound adventurous, but, this time, overdo with your eyeliner, choose a dark lipstick and dare to wear glittery make-up

1

Back to black

The eyeliner and the black kohl are absolute musts, you already know this by now. Regardless of trends and all, these two items cannot be missing from your make-up kit. And if you usually apply them with the utmost discretion, this fall you are allowed to exaggerate: apply a black outline on the lower eyelid, as well as on the upper one, and put on an outfit with punk or rock influences. You will find plenty of inspiration from Saint Laurent, Etro, Chloe, Elie Saab or Dsquared2 shows.

2

Emphasized cheeks

In those days when you wear a soft make-up, underline your cheeks with delicate shades of pink or orange. But, there’s a secret: the blush should be the strength of your look, as seen at Alberta Ferretti, Vivienne Tam, Etro or Byblos.

3

Modern gothic

OK, there’s no surprise in using dark-toned lipsticks in the cold season. However, this time, the shades are very dark, almost close to black – in Marc Jacobs and Vivienne Westwood shows. Dior, Louis Vuitton, Marni, Rodarte or Max Mara went for more wearable versions: burgundy lips, in glossy or matte textures.

4

Peachy eyeshadows

Sweet, warm, understated tones, with whom you can quickly and easily create a cool, trendy make-up. The simplest way to go? Apply the orange eyeshadow along the entire upper eyelid. And when you choose it, opt for a moderate tone (in nooo case, neon-orange), eventually a matte texture, like in the Prabal Gurung, Nina Ricci, Balmain, BCBG or Narciso Rodriguez shows.

5

The glitter era

The 80’s inspiration – love it or not – is so very powerful in make-up. It’s a glittery autumn, after all! Designers have played with shiny particles in various shades and, obviously, as expected, they switched from the softer variations to the more extravagant ones. For this trend, the catwalk references are Burberry Prorsum, Emanuel Ungaro, No 21, Tommy Hilfiger and John Richmond.

6

Raspberry lips

I know, I know perfectly: the raspberry-pink lips seem to be the perfect choice for summer. But it’s not the only way. Especially if you choose a lip stain, whose texture merges with your lips. Use this beautiful hue of pink only on the center of your lips – it just looks super cool. Get some inspiration from the make-ups seen at Ralph Lauren, Dolce&Gabbana, Laura Biagiotti, or Christopher Kane.
