Wingsuit flying

1

Wingsuit flying

You need a special suit, which is called wingsuit – a suit with wings. With it, you can glide in the air and even change the direction of the flight. The wingsuit flyers also have a parachute, just to be sure they will land safe.
Still, wingsuit flying is not for everybody: it’s for those who have jumped with the parachute at least 200 times in the last 18 months.

Where: In Dubai, above the Palm Islands, or in Voss, a place that is nick-named Norway’s adrenaline capital.

2

Volcano boarding

More accurately, that means sliding down with a board from the top of an active volcano. Of course, you need a special suit and gear, helmet and kneecaps for protection. Before the volcano climb, you’ll get a little training, but, otherwise, you don’t need more. Just plenty of guts! The speed can reach 80-90 kilometers per hour. Also, take into account this is a dangerous sport that entails your maximum attention span in order to avoid accidents.

Where: The most popular place for volcano boarding is the Cerro Negro Mountain, in Leon, Nicaragua.

Wing walking

Wing walking

Wing walking means that you’ll be walking on the wings of a flying airplane. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? Those who practice this sport need to wear a special harness. Resistant cables for support are also used, but no parachutes (because you’ll be flying too low, but also because there is a risk that the parachute might open by mistake). And, yes, you’ll also need some training for this adventure.

Where: In the UK, in Yorkshire or Lincolnshire.

4

Cave diving

As lots of unknown situations can occur – imagine that you’ll be diving into caves filled with water – cave diving is considered a highly extreme sport. Its practitioners must have plenty of diving experience, especially as cave diving comes with new, unpredictable elements. You must know to navigate in the dark, but also to assess precisely your return route, which is never a short or cozy one.

Where: In Tulum, Mexico, you’ll find some of the most beautiful aquatic caves that are really worth exploring.

Zorbing

Zorbing

Imagine this: you’re in a large, transparent sphere, rolling down on a slope or a gentle downhill terrain. It can also be practiced on water, but, in this case, it can no longer be catalogued an extreme sport. Inside the inflatable ball is another ball, where the zorbing practitioner sits. The layer between the two spheres creates an air cushion that is amortizing the shocks.

Where: In lots of places in the world – UK, Canada, Japan, and United States. Or go to New Zealand, where this sport was invented.
