The influence of the 1970s is very much felt and present: Coach, Prada or Miu Miu are proposing saddle bags, for instance.
But I’ve noticed the very small bags, as well, which almost no longer care about practicality – they are like jewelry. I’ve seen them at Chanel, Emporio Armani, Kenzo or Saint Laurent. On the other hand, if you like opulence, you’ll love this season, as many fashion houses have gambled on this trend. Get inspiration from Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney or Dolce&Gabbana and pick a precious handbag from velvet or lace. But the designers have not shied away from the oversized bags, either, yet they played with their shape: square or rectangular as in Balenciaga, Dolce&Gabbana, Moschino or Salvatore Ferragamo.
