For years now I’ve been learning to ignore matching things, like the bag and the shoes shouldn’t be the same, or how I shouldn’t wear an outfit in the same color from head to toe. And yes, all of the above are still in place (though it’s better not to take things to the extreme). Yet, the designers come up with some brand new matching rules: nail polish and make-up. And they do it in such away that even persuaded me to give up the classical manicure.
So, what’s it all about then? You’ve got plenty of options, enough to pick one for each day of the week. The simpler – and probably, the quicker – is Thierry Mugler’s proposal: pick a black nail polish and, for the eyes, smoky eye shadow with black khol accents. And if by now nothing caught your attention, the challenge is yet to come:

Silver details
I’ve seen them at Noon by Noor: the silver eye shadow is applied only in the inner corner of the eye. And for the nails was used a transparent lacquer and then a thing vertical silver stripe. Looks cool, take my word for it.

Emerald green
Monique Lhuillier comes with an even more daring idea: a green khol or eye shadow on the eyelids. The same color shade was chosen also for the nails, in a way that takes as back to the well known French manicure. This is, probably, the only way I would wear green nail polish myself.

A touch of turquoise
The tropical make-up in shades of green and turquoise from Alexis Mabille was a total hit on the catwalk. But have you also seen the nails? A wow combo of turquoise nail polish (used only on the lower part of the nail) and a matte rosy-white (on the upper part).

Black accents
Again, both on the eyelids and nails, as we’ve seen in the backstage at Jonathan Simkhai. For the eyes, only black khol was used. And for the manicure, a contour, all around the nails: black in the lower part and silver in the upper part of the nail. Doesn’t it look cool?
