Even if each season invariably marks the launching of new perfumes, not all of them end up getting long-term recognition and appreciation: not all become famous. Some are successful for a short-term; others stay in the top for years in a row. That’s why I chose to write about five of the latter, which have a privileged place in the preferences of men everywhere in the world.

La Nuit de L’Homme, Yves Saint Laurent
As we already learn from its name, La Nuit de l’Homme is an intense perfume for the evening. It was created by three of the most known perfumers: Anne Flipo, Pierre Wargnye and Dominique Ropion. It opens with bergamot and cardamom notes, then gently seducing you for good with its woody and sweet agreements.

Spicebomb Extreme, Viktor&Rolf
Seductive. Persistent. And incredibly sexy. Spicebomb Extreme has an explosive composition, which magically highlights lavender. The lavender then gets entangled with black pepper and chime, but also with tobacco and vanilla notes. A spicy, vibrant mixture, perfectly suited for the daring men.

L’Homme Ideal, Guerlain
The House of Guerlain beautifully translated the aspirations of men in its iconic L’Homme Ideal perfume: a persistent, spontaneous, attractive aroma. It’s an oriental-woody perfume, created by Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk. The two perfumers chose to combine an array of delightful notes: from bitter orange, rosemary, almonds and tonka, to leather, cedar and vetiver bouquets.

A*Men, Thierry Mugler
A perfume created for those men who don’t compromise. A fragrance for the men who know what they want, and how to get it. And, last but not least, a perfume for those who have guts. Because A* Men is not discreet, nor delicate. It’s a seductive cocktail of exotic fruits, lavender, coriander, patchouli, cedar, coffee, and musk notes.

Legend, Montblanc
Endowed with power and delicacy.
