I would, I really would. I’d pack my bags now – right now! A few swimsuits, SPF cream, sunglasses, and the thought that I’ll be able to enjoy some gorgeous days, bare feet, in the sand. The whitest sands, by the way – as Punta Cana is notably famous for its beaches.
If you’ll point your finger on the map, you’ll find Punta Cana in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic. It’s there, surrounded by the Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean. It’s, literally, a slice of heaven on earth – I know it might sound cliché, but, please, look at the pictures and tell me it’s not! Punta Cana is a resort with over 30 kilometers of beach, thousands of hotels and, of course, lots of clubs and restaurants. A place to relax, but also to have fun. If you mix them, well, then you’ll undeniably have a holiday to remember.
What to do first? Well, of course, start with a day on the beach. One of the most famous ones is Bavaro Beach, with its crystal-clear waters, so it’s perfect for the snorkeling. Most hotels rent special snorkeling equipment, so there’s no reason to worry. Enjoy the fish – here they have the most dazzling colors! Reserve one day for an escapade to Macao Beach, which is a public beach. On Sundays it can be rather crowded, as the locals come to unwind and surf. It’s worth seeing, especially since it is said it’s one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean.
If you’re the reserved type, who prefers the quieter places, then add on your list Saona Island. It’s a place that seems untouched, with exotic vegetation, birds and turtles. A place of a rare beauty, which will stick in your mind for a long time.
After you’ve refilled your batteries at the beach, go to Scape Park. Here you’ll find sensational landscapes, caves, lagoons, and, of course, you’ll be able to enjoy various sports – especially if you’re an adrenaline buff. On the flipside, you’ll get a chance to learn more about the local culture. Every bit as spectacular is the natural reservation, Indigenous Eyes Ecological Park, with fabulous lagoons, where you can even swim.
Okay, these are just some of the attractions. You’ll see there, on the spot, that there are so many more beaches that are worth seeing – spending a laid-back morning. You’ll discover that you can go to the caves, swim with the dolphins, or reach the pristine, wild, almost untouched places, with a flora and a fauna, as if cut out from a magic photo album. Last, but not least, we have to add to this treasurable package the exotic cocktails, the delicious food, or the clubs where you can party and forget all of your troubles. So, what do you say?
