Honestly, I suffer terribly in the torrid days. I feel like I’m melting. While my friend sits in the sun all day, I don’t know where to hide. And I can’t just sit all day in the shower, either. So, all summer long I’m looking for the refreshing products that are cooling me, that’s how I survive! Below are the ones I use myself. But before I review them, I’ll share with you a little secret: use your girlfriend’s thermal water spray. It’s clearly the fastest solution, especially on vacation.

The shower gel
Even though I wash up with almost cold water, I still feel the need to use a refreshing product. That is why, for me, mornings begin with Samurai Ice Shower from Rituals, a shower gel with bamboo organic extracts and Japanese mint. It smells heavenly and leaves a feeling of freshness that lasts on my skin.

The hand gel
I have to confess that I had no idea that such a thing exists: a refreshing hand gel, Verbena Harvest from L’Occitane. It cools and hydrates, but the skin immediately absorbs it. I also discovered it in my girlfriend’s arsenal – she often uses it. It smelled so good, so I asked her what it was, and she urged me to try it. I listened to her and I’m thankful to this day.

The after sun cream
Even if I don’t like to spend long time in the sun – on vacation I prefer to swim or to read something under the beach umbrella – I really need my SPF cream. Not just because I’m light-skinned, but also because I know how dangerous the solar rays can be. But, true, when I would get in my hotel room, I had no desire to use yet another cream, the after sun one. That was until I discovered this product with a refreshing effect from Piz Buin, with mint and aloe vera.

The after-shave
What can be more enjoyable than a sensation of freshness immediately after shaving? For me this is one of the most awaited moments – the one when I apply a refreshing and perfumed after-shave. My choice for the hot season is Cool Water from Davidoff – its fresh aroma gives me a boost of energy and, at the same time, it’s a product that soothes skin irritations.

The deodorant
Need I say how important the role of a good deodorant is? Not just in the middle of the summer, but anytime. Yet in the hot, burning days, when you drink plenty of water and sweat accordingly, you truly realize whether a deodorant actually works or not. From what I’ve tested, I like the antiperspirant roll-on, with the refreshing effect, from L’Oreal Men Expert.
