5 of the most beautiful gardens in the world

It’s worth to travel just to have a walk in any of them

When you say the garden you already think of a wonderful, relaxing place with fabulous flowers and plants. However, in many places in the world, there are some unique and stunning gardens, true destinations by themselves. Here are some of our favorites.

1

Nong Nooch Tropical, Botanical Tropical Garden, Pattaya, Thailand

Opened in 1980, it has around 5000 visitors every day. If you ever arrive here, book at least half a day so you can fully enjoy this garden that gathers together the European inspired landscape, special areas dedicated to orchids, floating gardens, palm trees or cactuses. Don’t miss the traditional Thai performance. Nor the elephants’ one.

2

Bagh-e Fin, Kashan, Iran

Completed in 1590, this is the oldest and most beautiful Iranian garden and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site. It is considered to be an evocation of Heaven and, although it’s a Persian garden, in its planning can be found Indian and Spanish influences. Even though it was built in an arid area, here are channels and fountains and trees that are more than 500 years old.

3

Kenroku-en Garden, Ishikawa, Japan

The best time to visit this garden – and, incidentally, to make a trip to Japan – is when the cherries blossom. Then, Kenroku-en is a fabulous place full of tranquility and peace. But there is a reason why the garden is beautiful all year round, even in the cold season: here are more than 8700 trees and more than 180 plants, but also the oldest fountain in Japan.

4

The gardens of the Palace of Versailles, France

If you haven’t already visited them, for sure you have heard of them: they are the impressive gardens throughout Europe. Stretched over more than 800 acres, they are the point of attraction for more than six million tourists every year and represent the most visited public place in France. Dating from the period of Louis XIV’s reign, they are, indeed, wonderful: you need at least a full day to enjoy the French garden landscape with an assortment of flowers, plants, fountains, statues. In the summer, don’t miss the outdoor performances.

5

Majorelle Garden, Marrakech, Morocco

Anyone arriving in Marrakech has to see the famous Jardin Majorelle, created by the painter Jardin Majorelle, who has dedicated over 40 years of his life to this amazing project. You will discover lots of exotic plants and birds, a villa transformed now into a Museum and painted in a vibrant color – that inimitable Majorelle blue –, pools filled with lotus flowers, fountains and a monument dedicated to the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.
