5 dream islands…

… and just perfect for your summer holiday

If you haven’t made yet your vacation plans, but want to elope somewhere, not far away, in a magical place, I just have for you a few great proposals: some absolutely superb islands, and what can be better than this? Choose the one that attracts you the most and pack your luggage. And just wait for some fairytale days.

1

Marettimo, Italy

From Trapani, Sicily, you will arrive in Marettimo by boat in just about an hour. You will be intrigued and amazed by the African-like climate, but don’t let yourself fooled – you’re in a place, which strongly belongs to Italy. The white houses contrast with the blue sea, as well as with the colored and picturesque fishermen’s houses. The few hundred inhabitants live from fishing, tourism and from selling handcrafted objects. The good time is guaranteed, otherwise: you’ll be able to do plenty of diving or just “walk” through the small caves by boat.

2

Hvar, Croatia

It is one of the most beautiful islands on the renowned Dalmatian coast, with lavender fields, vineyards and good wine, a fortress and the walls of a castle dating back to the 13th century. The sea and the beaches are gorgeous, and if you want to see other islands nearby, you can easily get to Pakleni.

3

Procida, Italy

In southern Italy, near Naples, Procida is one of those magical places where “The Talented Mister Ripley” was filmed. The colorful cottages seem to be taken out from a painting – but they actually exist and, yes, they do give you the feeling that you’ve reached paradise. Plus it’s a place where you can eat like a king: just sit yourself at any of the small restaurants and order pasta, seafood or fresh fish. You won’t regret it.

4

Elafonissi, Greece

It’s close to Crete and, though it’s less known, Elafonissi will seduce you on the spot with its turquoise waters and lagoons and pink sands. When the weather is good, you can even walk through water to this place of dreams – there are just about 200 meters away from Crete. However, it’s safer by car or boat :).

5

Kekova, Turkey

In the famous Antalya, Kekova is an almost uninhabited small islet, of just 4.5 square kilometers, but perfect for outdoor activities, swimming and, most of all, for visiting the ancient ruins with a glass-bottom boat. The perfect place for a bit of adventure!
