5 escapades for the soul

Some ideal vacation destinations for the yoga enthusiasts, and not only

After months of meetings, tons of excel sheets, and tedious business trips it’s finally time to take a real vacation. And if you feel like you’re not quite up for an active vacation, find out what those serene yoga retreats have to offer. They all promise relaxation, but each one has a special program. And even if you’re not in the mood to attend every yoga lesson, you’ll benefit from a quiet and relaxing environment to charge your batteries.

1

Zakynthos, Greece

It’s simply a gorgeous island – just as almost all Greek islands. You have all the reasons to take long walks on the fine sand beaches, to swim in the turquoise waters and to relax at Villa Zaharoula. Here you can attend the yoga classes, as well as the photography ones. And it’s a great place for both activities. The villa, surrounded by olive trees, overlooks the Ionian Sea and is the perfect destination for romantic holidays, weddings or, simply, for families with children.

2

Costa Brava, Spain

Located in Costa Brava – a famous destination known for its exquisite beaches –, Pi Blau is an eco villa, built as a place for relaxation and wellness for groups or families with children. It’s a place where you can fully enjoy the Mediterranean cuisine (especially the local, organic products), the sun and, of course, yoga. The special room for yoga has 100 square meters, huge windows that flood the place with natural light and through which you can see the Mediterranean sea.

3

Djupvik, Norway

In Northern Norway, at two and a half hours of Tromso, Lyngen Lodge is a luxury hotel, which offers various activities both in summer and winter. It’s the perfect place when you want to escape from the cities where the air becomes unbearable, and temperatures rise up to 40 degrees or more. Furthermore, between May 16 and July 26, here the sun shines 24 hours a day – a phenomenon called midnight sun. You can participate in the yoga classes, but also to fish in the fjord, to see whales, to climb the mountain or ride.

4

Castelo Branco, Portugal

At the La Vale de Moses, in Portugal, you can subscribe to various yoga programs, all detailed on the site of this marvelous place. In addition to yoga, you’ve got lots of options: you can choose from massages that heal various diseases, resting in cabins specially designed for relaxation, or eat only nutritious dishes, cooked with fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. La Vale de Moses is set in a gorgeous, perfect place for rest and relaxation.

5

The Amalfi Coast, Italy

One of the most beautiful areas in the world, the Amalfi Coast is home to La Selva, an organic farm near Positano. Here you can attend yoga classes, enjoy the Italian cuisine or, why not, rest in a hammock. If you want more adrenaline, climb the mountains or go biking. Still, one of the days that you spend there must be reserved for trips to Ravello, Amalfi and Praiano, some of the most beautiful cities in Italy.
